HDFS is engaged in a variety of global collaborations which allow us to internationalize our curriculum and to educate the global citizen of tomorrow. The HDFS Global Research Series features internationally renowned scholars discussing contemporary issues in the field of family sciences.
Race and Culture Series
HDFS sponsors a twice a year Race and Culture series that is open to the university and local community. We feature pertinent faculty research, workshops and trainings on issues such as implicit bias and micro-aggressions, and other such topics and relevant movie screenings and discussions. The goal of this series is to stimulate, facilitate and sustain discussions around critical issues pertaining to race, culture and diversity.
Social Entrepreneurship Series
The University of Delaware’s Department of Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS), in partnership with Horn Entrepreneurship, is committed to helping students integrate business principles into practical ideas to solve social issues. The seminar series, launched in Spring 2018, features social entrepreneurs who are centered on partnering and advocating for their communities.
