Laura Cutler, a doctoral student in HDFS, is a member of Newark’s newly reinstated chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Laura has helped launch an AAUW registered student organization (RSO) on campus for undergraduate and graduate students. AAUW is a national organization that advocates for equity and education for women and girls. Under the guidance of faculty advisor Martha Buell, the AAUW RSO will provide training and networking opportunities to students, with the ultimate goal of preparing them to negotiate for equal opportunities and advocate for gender equity in their professional careers.
