Dr. Gallo-Fox, Assistant Professor, and Laura Morris, Master Teacher, designed the Main Street Project to encourage students at the Laboratory Preschool to learn about their community in Newark. Student participated in field trips to Main Street and worked together to build a model of the town based on their observations. The 18-foot model of Newark’s Main Street went on display on February 13. WDEL interviewed Dr. Gallo-Fox, Laura Morris and several students about the project. The Newark Post‘s Karie Simmons also reported on this project, discussing how it allowed students to recognize the changes that Main Street has undergone while supporting key content areas and standards addressed in the Lab Preschool curriculum.
