Human Development and Family Sciences

Catherine “Kitty” Bieber, former associate dean of the College of Human Resources (now the College of Education and Human Development) and associate professor of home economics education (a prior academic area of Human Development and Family Sciences), passed away on November 11, 2017. UDaily published an In Memoriam detailing Dean Bieber’s career and her legacy at the University of Delaware. Dean Bieber was instrumental in establishing the HDFS department, and the study of home economics, and family and consumer sciences at the University of Delaware. Since her retirement 25 years ago, Dean Bieber continued to mentor HDFS students and support their work  through the scholarship that she founded. We offer our sincere condolences to the Bieber family.
